The section on Language and Migrationapproaches language-related facets of migration in an interdisciplinary way. We deal with structural and psycholinguistic topics, such as contact of languages and language varieties and the acquisition of languages in a multi-lingual society. We also focus on sociolinguistic questions of multilingual linguistic practice and language policy topics, such as the social and institutional handling of migration and integration.
The section’s work deals with issues of migration linguisticsin the pan-European context, i.e. explicitly including work from and about East-Central and Eastern European regions.
We constider ourselves a platform for younger researchers who want to present the results of their own projects.
